Our annual Anaheim Tryout at Zion Lutheran Church in Anaheim, CA. We have been coming down to Anaheim for many years for this tryout, and we have always found a number of high level players. This year was no different as we hosted players from the 2025 class all the way down to a good number of 2030 athletes – 7th graders. It turned out to be a very good group once again, and we will look forward to seeing them this summer in Rosetta or Colorado.
We want to thank Louie Villanueva who runs the fields at Zion and helps facilitate this annual event. Louie is one of the truly wonderful people in this sport. It is a pleasure to work with him each year. We would also like to thank Tony Rosales who came in to hit fungo for us and help with the hitting workout. Tony does a great job with the bat, and it’s always good to see him. And finally we’d like to recognize KJ and ODM® for all the work they put into these tryouts each and every year. ODM® has become an integral part of the college coach’s evaluation process, and we highly value the precise and verifiable data they share with us.
It is important to remember that in all tryouts we are looking for skill sets and athleticism. We do it this way to make sure an athlete can hold her own in the Jamboree or National Camp setting. If the skill sets of the player can hold up under the rigor of an OnDeck workout, and the prospect is athletic enough to match the athleticism of the other players, then we are good to go. It is our feeling that attending coaches will find that athlete intriguing enough to follow and evaluate on their own.
We want to thank all the players and parents who joined us for this tryout. Please keep us updated on your tournament and game schedules and email them to info@ondecksoftball.net
Listed below are the players selected and the invitations they are guaranteed. It is important to know that players were considered for all Jamborees. If you were not selected, keep working on your skill set and athleticism. Do not be discouraged. We want to do what is best for you and help you be successful on the softball field.

Please remember that the ODM numbers, while growing increasingly important, are only a snapshot of a player’s evaluation and potential. They are also just a portion of the Tryout selection process, for more information read Your Tryout & ODM Numbers. Use these numbers as a tool and work at developing your athleticism, but constantly work on improving and refining your softball skill set – both offensively and defensively.
These numbers have also been posted to your profile. An Allister Index is not given with Tryout ODM numbers. If you have any questions about your ODM Numbers, email kj@odmtesting.com
