The annual Seattle tryout was held on a gorgeous day in the PNW. We want to thank all the players and parents that made their way to Allan Yorke Field for the tryout. More and more turf fields are popping up in the Seattle area that provide great facilities to hold a tryout.
We can see the efforts going into training, not only the players softball skill set, but their strength and conditioning for these players. They are really putting in a lot of work to be the best all around players they can be. We had quite a few younger players in attendance, and they just need another year or two to get stronger and refine their skills. There were a few high level players that we are excited to get in front of college coaches this summer.
Thanks go out to Joe and Chris Breer for their relentless efforts in helping us hold this tryout. We also want to thank Andy Larkins for throwing BP, she attended a few OnDeck events prior to signing with Seattle U. And to John and Josh for throwing front toss and hitting fungo. We could never get it done without their selfless contributions. And then thanks to the parents who all put so much into this process with your daughters. It is our most sincere hope that we can help you all in this wonderful and fun-filled journey.
It is important to remember that in all tryouts we are looking for skill sets and athleticism. We do it this way to make sure an athlete can hold her own in the Jamboree setting. If the skill sets of the player can hold up under the rigor of an OnDeck workout, and the prospect is athletic enough to match the athleticism of the other players, then we are good to go. It is our feeling that attending coaches will find that athlete intriguing enough to follow and evaluate on their own.
We want to thank all the players and parents who joined us for this tryout. Please keep us updated on your tournament and game schedules and email them to info@ondecksoftball.net
Listed below are the players selected and the invitations they are guaranteed. It is important to know that players were considered for all Jamborees. If you were not selected, keep working on your skill set and athleticism. Do not be discouraged. We want to do what is best for you and help you be successful on the softball field.

Please remember that the ODM numbers, while growing increasingly important, are only a snapshot of a player’s evaluation and potential. They are also just a portion of the Tryout selection process, for more information read Your Tryout & ODM Numbers. Use these numbers as a tool and work at developing your athleticism, but constantly work on improving and refining your softball skill set – both offensively and defensively.
These numbers have also been posted to your profile. An Allister Index is not given with Tryout ODM numbers.
